In relation to the way I think this question was asked, I would say my answer is no.

That's a weird subject with me. I'd really like to, but being a science and math oriented person, it's hard for me to comprehend the possibility that there could be something like that out there.

On the other hand, considering my dad died of AIDS when I was 10, I'd like to believe that he's somewhere better, and that I'll see him again one day.

I heard a great conception of "God" over the weekend...

Essentially, all matter can be broken down into subatomic particles, and theoretically to preons. Everything is made from these original pieces, a single image, an original blueprint. Each of us carries this blueprint as part of our being. Broken down, we are all of the same composition. It is the original piece, that which combines with it's like self to form higher forms of matter which can carry the label "God".

Personally, I believe in God. I believe God to be a conception, a greater state which we as humans do not have the capacity to understand or categorize. There is no "He" or "She"...even "It" is too much of a description. Trying to attach human concepts of intelligence, compassion, vengeance, etc are completely limiting to a greater understanding of God. Even my own ideas of God are ultimately labels...

Well, gods (plural), yes. However, I don't think the gods exist as literal entities with which I can have personal relationships.

When I was a little kid growing up, ask anybody arround me in my class, or any friends on my street. They would ALL SAY YES!!! every one of them, Ask them if they go to church on sundays, and they all said YES. Now ask people that are all grown up, some don't believe in god, some believe in the existance, but not follow (agnostic) some think they are god, some would say "God Who?" it gets rediculous I tell ya. Like people dont know what to do anymore, theyre confised

Individuals aren't necessarily confused, they just don't all have the same beliefs. I personally think it's positive that in a pluralistic society we need to make and take responsibility for our own decisions, rather than just take what society gives us as "truth." The framework of that old society where everyone believed more or less the same things and generally acted out of a values system driven by those beliefs has fallen apart. We've moved to a new place with a lot more complexity - that isn't necessarily the same as "confusion."

The problem, especially now, with a question like "Do you believe in God?" is that it means different things to different people. For some people "God" might refer to a literal man-like creature with vast powers and a grey beard sitting in the heavens, for others it is an aspect of themselves, for others it might be an impersonal God with which it is not really possible to have a personal relationship. There are many variations on the theme.

I think we also grew up in different places, or perhaps you're a lot older than me (I'm 42 and grew up in Toronto). When I was a child/teenager I knew people who went to church, people who didn't go to church, people who were Jewish, Buddhist, Atheists, etc. It all seemed perfectly normal.

i believe there is some kind of higher power out there. But to choose one religion over another due to "only one being right" is just absurd to me.

My parents grew up being raised as Hindu's. Take a look around my house and you'll see a Bible, a Qu'Ran, buddhist books, books on judaism, hindu books etc. On our fireplace is a Happy Buddha, a statue of Ganesh playing a flute, and a cross.

Not that we believe each and every major religion out there, but we are very open to other peoples beliefs and respect each religion for what it is. I cant see how anyone can be so closed minded about religion.

No. I'm not agnostic to the possibility of having a cosmic dictator. I am rather reassured by the reality of the non-existence of any gods.

Very much so. Don't go a single day without asking Him for direction.
