Hi,

I have 3 bank accounts with my own money in it and my parents took over it since I have a very very low paying job so they decided to with draw a certain amount of money and put it in my bank account I know cuz my parents say they need to "borrow" my debit to purchase some thing and they will pay me back but ends up me having more money in it and they said i can't spend it. (TD, CIBC and President's Choice Financial)

So the 3 banks I am looking to open under my own name without my parent's knowing are Bank of Montreal (BMO), Scotiabank and Royal Bank of Canada.

I have in total of my own money in the 3 current banks is between $1,500 and $2,000.

so I think I meet the account minimum balance that I have to have in the bank to waive the monthly fee.

I am 20 years old BTW still living with my parents and attending college.

thanks,
Hiep

You're an adult..go open up an account at whichever bank you want, even if it's one that you already have an account with..the bank can't tell your parents that you have other accounts with them.

What he said, you're old enough to have your own account, I would recommend asking for information from each bank, usually banks have student plans where there's no fees or low fees.

Off topic but I would stay away from TD, that's the first bank I've ever seen telemarket so often, Credit Unions are great to deal with though
