I'm a Western Digital guy through and through. I worked as a computer tech, and the number of Seagate RMAs I had to do... oh, Satan, the horror...
So, in which camp are you?

I'd have to say W/D as well, I don't recall one going south on me yet, where-as the same can't be said for other brands.

I currently have around 16 seagate drives and all work fine. I've also owned around another 10 and those were all fine before I sold them.
The brand that hasn't worked out for me is Samsung. 3 drives, 1 works intermittently, 1 vibrates more than usual.
WD has been pretty good. Out of maybe 20 drives only 1 has gone bad.

I've only ever upgraded 1 hard drive...but it was a Seagate and it worked fine. I sold it with my old computer.

I've had really good luck with Maxtor.

I've had really good luck with Maxtor.
I find their drives to be on the loud side personally.

I voted Samsung because it's the only harddrive in my computer that I haven't replaced.
But i've used Seagate, Maxtor, and WD with mixed results. Drives all seem to be the same for me, always hit or miss.
