I just turned 18 a few months ago and have picked up a few credit cards. What is your favorite one? Do you get Rewards, Miles, Cash back?

anytime you get any sort of Rewards, Points or cash back there are annual fees and higher interest rates.

I tend to stay away from them. I use a GM TD Visa no annual fee. Most god annual fees are about $120 yearly. Most platinum fees are about $300. They Platinum card will waive your fees if you spend a certain amount yearly.

Yuck to annual fees. I have capital one and I just called them to waive the annual fee on the card. Also, my other card has rewards as well and no annual fee.

Right now I get 1.5 points per dollar and 1.25% cashback on my two cards. It's great, put gas and stuff on it. Stuff that I have to buy regardless and get paid for buying. Definitely beats cash. I made $6 from my capital one card in one month just using it for monthly expenses.

The annual fee is partly based on the rewards program. But most of it is based on the insurance you have to pay for the coverage you get with a gold and platinum card. For example.. A gold and platinum card gives you added insurance on electronic products you buy. No fee cancellations for airfare. Full inrurance on rental cars. Etc.. These things can have be had from a premium payment.

BMO Airmiles Gold Mastercard.
$90 annual fee, purchase insurance, cheaper flights on westjet, and 1mile/$15purchased.
I just make all my purchases on the card and pay it off monthly so no interest charges. Totally worth the $90.
