...people who refer back to the bible for everything that they talk to you about. It's like every fucking conversation you have has something to do with the way they interpret the bible! I also do not understand why catholics do not eat meat on good friday, the bible says Jesus was a man not a fucking cow! You shouldn't eat humans on good friday but red meat is fair game!

That is actually a surprisingly accurate description. There are people out there who feel that it is necessary to "save" others, doing so means they lead a more spiritual life

For some religions, it is exactly like you described. For those who believe righteousness can be achieved through good works, they spend their time telling others to try to earn favor with God. The Bible teaches that our favor with God comes through the shed blood of His Son. No matter how religious we are, we'll never be good enough to deserve Heaven. I go to church, give money, serve in ministries, I'm faithful to my wife, I don't smoke, drink, cuss, chew, etc. etc. But the truth is that if it weren't for the grace of God I'd be on my way to hell because I'm a sinner just like everyone else.
The reason I choose to share my faith is more like this: we're on a plane which is about to crash and I have a bunch of parachutes in the back. Knowing that people who are in the crash won't survive, I start handing out as many parachutes as I can. Some people won't believe, some will laugh, some will get angry at me for interrupting their flight. Those who put on the chutes exercise a great deal of faith and jump out of the plane. If I didn't have a sense of urgency, and I didn't share with everyone the thing that could save them.. the guilt would overwhelm me. Having the knowledge that could save them and not sharing it is the same as passing a death sentence on them. That's why people should share their faith with as many as possible.

I don't mind it when people have faith and are proud of it, I mean I love to hear about peoples faiths I do not mind it, but when they don't stop talking about it, and then they use it in ways that don't make sense.
for instance "God Bless America" what the fuck is that all about? God only loves America ?
Does god love north america more than south america or maybe central america maybe this is why the british have fucked up teeth and there is so much bloodshed in "insert the place in africa where one tribe is killing the other tribe to the point of extinction here"
Why must god bless america what has america done to deserve this blessing?

I have a good friend who is very religious (and from Alberta) so he refers alot back to the bible, however he does say alot that he contradicts himself, he goes on about how there shouldn't be a casino in the community because it's immoral, but every time we go to a bar, he's on the VLTs for more than half the time

Religion should be left at home. As soon as you walk out the door.. your religious values count for nothing till you get home.
I have this woman at work that tells me that I CAN only go to heaven if I accept Jesus as my saviour. This coming from a Christian woman. So she bascially tells me everyday that if Im not christian I cannot go to heaven. If thats not forcing christianity on you, then I dont know what it is.
I believe that everyone can believe in whomever and whatever. So as long as you can respect me for what I believe in and leave it at that. There are no wrongs and rights in religion.

I brought up a point similar to this a few days ago to a family member. I grew up in a family that was not too religious but they did take some religious (catholic) overtones seriously such as going to church on sunday and praying before meals. A big issue that I have with people that are religious, at least with certain sects of christianity, is that they have this "holier than thou" attitude. By that, I mean that they think that there is something wrong with you if you do not believe the same thing that they believe in and they claim that their particular branch of their faith loves all people. I'm sorry but that contradicts itself. I don't want your pity. I don't want to subscribe to something that preaches hate towards things like scientific developments, homosexuality, and sexuality in general. What I do is my business, not yours. You may not like it, but its my choice, not yours, get over it. You say I am going to hell if I don't believe, well I don't believe in heaven or hell, its your hell, you burn in it.

I don't see that as forcing Christianity on you in the slightest. She isn't forcing you to hold her beliefs - she is simply communicating hers.

True. Thats when I took the time to tell her that Im Hindu. And that she will not be able to go to heaven if because she does not believe in my GOD. And that she has nowhere to go because she isnt HIndu. She too offense to that. She told me Im on the wrong path and that nothing couldnt change that unless I accept Jesus. I told her to accept me as a GOD or else face a suffering death. She walked away and doesnt talk to me anymore.
So lets get something straight here. Its ok for her to tell me that I cant go to heaven because I havent accepted Christianity and Jesus as my saviour. Buts its wrong and rude of me to tell her if she doesnt believe in what I believe in, then she will not go to heaven either?

Not in the slightest, what you did is fine - I would have said the same thing to her ("he's just communicating his beliefs"). That's why I hate discussing politics/religion in the office, period!
