I would love to have a wap version of SlowFo!
Full version on the Touch is ok, but wap is so much faster to load.

It would be nice.
My phone will do full HTML, though I find myself using wap sites more often.

Ok guys, so this isn't true wap. Just mobile device detection and a lite skin. Let me know if it will work for now.

What type of device do you have? Do you know what your user agent setting is?

Works like a charm! You never notice how much you use those little color changing icons until they're gone...

HEheh, I know what you mean. I'm not a fan of WAP or lite skins either. I'd rather just have my phone render the page for mobile viewing.

wouldnt you have to change back to the desktop version when your on your comp/laptop? or does it change automatically depending on where your using it?
WorldIRC

It's automatic. When I go on my cellphone I get the mobile version and when I come back here its normal!

question about the wap version we are using..
has it been converted to an actual wap site, or is it still using the mobile detecting thing.. lol
i dont know if there's a huge difference. the reason i'm asking is, i want to know if the method we are using now qualifies as a wap site from the providers perspective.
$7 unlimited wap...

When the carriers say unlimited WAP its is to limit your data consumption, by having you use mobile sites instead of the real ones. Most will make you go through a proxy which forces websites to recognize your mobile and give you the low quality WAP version of the site. In this website's case, it is just a very plain skin. The fact that you are able to navigate to it without a problem, leads me to believe that your carrier will include it in with unlimited WAP. Besides, the light skin will use basically the same amount of data as a true WAP version would. My question to you, is are you able to go to regular websites on your phone? If you can, does your carrier charge you on a PPU basis when you do surf them?

so the mobile version is the same address, i don't understand.
TelecomZombie
05-06-2008, 07:22 PM
Mobile version is the exact same address but with a mobile(basic) skin by default.
ln the future perhaps a wap address will be provided. Until this occurs Let it be known that likely you will be charged regular data rates opposed to wap browsing ones.
Perhaps someone with strictly wap access can confirm my beliefs as l only have Full internet access with wap as an after thought.
