It is, however moderators here are chosen by the forum's members.

Come next round of elections when we need more mods yup. Probably be run in TFS again, or here I wonder? That's up to the powers that be I guess.
Are you going to be around more often then? :)

If there is another election it should be held here and not in the TFS, What I would like to know is... What happened to the monthly elections. It reminds me of the bait and switch tactics some shady stores pull to get customers in there stores! It just seems to me to be more of the same old crap that happens at HOFO! If Slowfo is truly it's own separate Forum, Elections should be decided by the members and not by the Moderators or the Administrative Team! :)

Honestly the monthly elections thing was up in the air. We weren't quite sure if it was going to be long enough, and were going to play it by ear. Same old crap??? This is the first I've heard of it Crocket. Quit your bitching and do something if you don't like the way things are going. Create a poll... what do you think this is??? American "democracy"??? We DO want you guys to choose the path of this forum. Since when did we demonstrate otherwise?
As far as TFS goes, Slowfo was supposed to start out as another perk of HoFo's paying members. That's why the elections were there. If the majority of people here want that to change, then so be it. It is UP TO YOU. Don't come in here and get angry about how things are going. Just change em. It doesn't take much but a thread and some voices. You can always feel free to PM me as well if you don't like the way things are going. I have yet to receive one.

My 2 cents. This forum only has upwards of a little over 200 members right now.
We have 4 mods and 2 admins. Why do we need more right now? I think 4 mods are sufficient with the amount of members we have right now. If we hold mod elections all the time everyone would be a mod, and what purpose would that serve.

The point was to rotate mods in and out. Not to keep everyone who gets elected.

Yep. I thought it was a pretty good idea.
Give everyone a chance. It makes it so everyone feels like they have a stake in this thing.

Hm, that's an interesting idea I suppose. Sounds like more trouble than it's worth though. But I guess if there's quite a few people that want to be mods it's worth it.

I dont get why anyone would want to be a MOD?? It just means more work. 2 mods and 2 admin is good enough for the site right now.
A revolving door on the MOD job would just lead to a power struggles with trigger happy temp mods looking to cause trouble rather than moderate.

That's not necessarely the case. I've been one of the mods at GBF for a tidbit more than a year and i've never gone on a power trip. Ironically, I was handpicked to be TZ's successor.
Temp mods are a bad idea, IMO. Established, trustworthy members eventually getting promoted to mod, that I'm perfectly fine with.
I think it's fine the way it is right now. :)

Agreed again. I think people who are frequent posters, actually contribute something worthwhile, and are known as friendly and trusted members should be mods. Not simply because someone "wants to".
